IndigoTinted For Softimage
IndigoTinted for Softimage (later on referred as IT4SI) represents the seamless integration of the Indigo Renderer engine developed by Glare Technologies® in AVID Softimage®|XSI® and Autodesk Softimage®. The project, started in 2007 by Riccardo Gigante, has been the first-ever unbiased renderer engine integrated into the Softimage environment.
The plug-in development, in stand-by for a long time period, it's going to be soonly resumed by +iso in order to release a public beta within the first quarter 2012.
By using most of the revolutionary features available in the Indigo 2.x family core and seemlessly integrating them in Softimage tool-set, IT4SI delivers an uncompromising unbiased power to arch-viz content creators and visual-fx artist while preserving the user's workflow.
IT4SI embeds Indigo power directly into Softimage render-region, material preview and render tools. It's 100% compliant with the Mental Ray node material-definition thanks to the implementation of custom nodes for textures (Indigo Texture), shaders (Indigo Material) and volumes (Indigo Medium). It also support IES files together with the Indigo native emissive property in order to provide a photometric light distribution handling.
IT4SI also features interactive rendering, even if the scene-graph description paradigm available in Indigo 3.x family will be later supported.
Instances, nested groups, multiple UV-sets, multi-material, blend-nodes are some of the feature set already included in the software with many more expected to come in the near future.
